ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
LES VAGUES surf school was created by Benjamin Pilon, with idea to share his kindness, knowledges and big experience in surf sphere with kids and adults who are interested in better quality and searching for the trust source of knowledges in this extreme sport. Main idea is to give you all what you need with respect and security for your independent surf practice in future.
OUR CREATOR
Son of a Capbreton surfer Benjamin grew up and learned surfing on the beaches of Capbreton Hossegor and Seignosse at the age of 6. Surfing becomes his passion, he progresses very quickly, begins a career as a high-level national sportsman and will be several times champion of the Landes, Aquitaine as well as vice champion of France in surfing.
Benjamin obtained his BJEPS State Diploma in Nautical Surfing Activities in 2011.
He began his career at the Santocha Surf Club where he quickly became sports director of the association which counts 300 licensees. He has the role of responsible for the instructors and the activity of the surf club for 10 years. He will train young French surfing hopefuls there all year round and will participate in the summer surf initiation seasons. His experience and his pedagogy make him one of the best surf coach and instructor in the region.
After working for 10 years in a surf club, he had the desire to set up a project that looks like him. It is therefore at the end of 2021 that the milestone is crossed and that he decides to open his own structure to share his passion and his experience.
The surf school Les Vagues was born on the Landes beaches of Capbreton where he grew up and had the chance to discover this fantastic discipline; in an exceptional setting that brings together some of the best waves in the world.

HOW SURF LESSON GOING?
Depending on the weather and ocean conditions, we agree on a meeting place on the beach where the session will take place. There you meet the surf instructor near our surf school van. Surf Instructor gives you a wetsuit and a surfboard in the size you need. Then, with the group and the surf instructor, you get closer to the water to listen to the theory and start your surfing practice, first on the sand, then in the water.
1,5 hours you spending for surf practice. Around 30 minutes takes to change costume and go to surf spot and come back to car.After training, the wetsuits and boards are handed over to the trainer together. We sanitize and dry all costumes after each client.
